Context Phase

Audience: Strategy Manager, CEO, Organization Admin Phase: 1 / 4 — Context Summary: The starting point of the strategic journey. Here you define organizational identity, product/service scope, the strategic cycle, and direction (mission & vision).


What Happens in This Phase?

The Context phase answers four foundational questions:

Modules

Organization (/org)

Define the company hierarchy (Holding → Company → Department → Team). Invite users and assign roles.

Done when:

  • ✅ At least one company record exists
  • ✅ Departments and teams are defined
  • ✅ CEO and Strategy Manager roles assigned

Products & Services (/products)

Enter the company's products and services into the catalog. Each product will be referenced in analysis and execution phases.

Done when:

  • ✅ At least one product/service record exists
  • ✅ Products are assigned to the correct category and cycle

Strategic Cycles (/strategic-cycles)

Define the time frame for your strategic work. All analyses, themes, and OKRs are linked to a cycle.

Steps:

  1. Enter a cycle name (e.g. "2025 Strategy Year")
  2. Set start and end dates
  3. Select scope (company, department, or team)
  4. Save as Active

Done when:

  • ✅ One active cycle exists
  • ✅ Date range and scope are defined

Mission & Vision (/mission-vision)

Write the organization's purpose (mission) and future direction (vision).

Mission — "Why do we exist?"

  • Action-oriented, timeless
  • ✅ Example: "To deliver fast, reliable, and scalable software solutions to our customers."
  • ❌ Not: "To be successful"

Vision — "Where are we going?"

  • SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound
  • ✅ Example: "By end of 2025, Turkey's most preferred SaaS platform, NPS > 80, revenue $150M"

Done when:

  • ✅ Mission is written
  • ✅ Vision meets SMART criteria
  • ✅ Both are linked to the active cycle
