PESTLE Analysis
Menu: Situation Analysis → Analysis Tools → PESTLE
PESTLE records external factors in six categories. Analysis Tools displays only tools you may access in enabled modules.
| Category | Example |
|---|---|
| Political | Policy or incentive changes |
| Economic | Demand, inflation or funding cost |
| Social | Customer behavior or demographics |
| Technological | New technology or infrastructure |
| Legal | Regulatory or contractual requirements |
| Environmental | Resource use or environmental impact |
Create an analysis
- Select the company and strategic cycle.
- Open the PESTLE card in Analysis Tools.
- Create an analysis with its name and relevant organization unit.
- Save and open the details.
Creation requires PESTLE access, the effective pestle_analysis feature, unit write scope and available limits. Team Leads also require unit-level strategy access; a preset name alone does not grant permission.
Add a matrix entry
- In Matrix, open the add icon next to a category.
- Enter the category and a short summary; put evidence and context in details.
- Mark it as a risk/threat when applicable and complete the extra risk fields.
- Save. With permission, edit from the card or confirm deletion.
Risk fields
- Primary risk category: one selection.
- Secondary tags: multiple selections.
- Risk level and probability: each from 0 to 1.
- Risk score: level × probability.
Removing the risk flag clears its category, tags, level and probability. A category with no entries shows an empty list; filling every category is not a general phase-completion gate.
KPIs and findings
Use continuous KPI records in KPIs. Enter measurements in KPI Tracking; report weights belong to this analysis. See KPI Tracking.
Review PESTLE inputs under Situation Analysis → Findings → Analysis Inputs and import them as findings with permission. A finding can then link to SWOT. Adding a PESTLE entry does not automatically create a separate finding or SWOT record. See Findings.
Closed cycles and access
A closed strategic cycle removes create/edit/delete controls, and the API also refuses writes. The KPI section shows the closing snapshot. If you cannot add an entry, check the effective module, unit scope and cycle state.
